Questions CFOs ask us.

What is dynamic discount, in one sentence?

Paying an invoice earlier than the contractual due date in exchange for a commercial discount negotiated with the supplier. It's not factoring: there's no third party buying the invoice. It's just early payment, inside the direct buyer-supplier relationship.

Is your AI real or marketing speak?

Honest answer: ~30% of the 22 AI moments are real calls to Claude Sonnet 4 (invoice extraction via vision, email drafting, alert explanation, CFO narratives, contracts, natural-language queries). The other 70% are deterministic, auditable heuristics: logistic regression for rate suggestions, SQL rules for fraud detection, moving averages for supplier health. Where the LLM wins (free text, multi-factor reasoning) we use Claude; where maths is enough, it stays deterministic — cheaper, faster, reproducible.

Typical cost for an active corporate: €15–30/month in Anthropic calls. Each call is logged in corp_ai_* with the full prompt and tokens consumed, fully auditable.

Whose money pays the supplier early?

Two options, your choice: (1) Own cash: the company uses its own treasury, captures the discount, stays on balance sheet. (2) Bank financing: a partner bank advances payment to the supplier; the company pays the bank at the original maturity. Off balance sheet. You can mix the two modes per supplier or per invoice.

How is it different from factoring?

In factoring, the supplier sells the invoice to a third party (bank/factoring company) at a cost of 6–10% annualised, with or without recourse, and heavy legal paperwork. In dynamic discount, the supplier gets paid directly by the usual buyer, with a 1–2% discount instead of 6–10%, because there's no intermediary taking the risk. For the supplier it's 4–8 percentage points cheaper.

What risk does the company entering the programme take on?

In own-cash mode there's no new risk: the company was already the debtor on the invoice — it's just paying earlier. In bank-financing mode, the partner bank assumes the risk that the company won't pay at the original maturity (buyer risk, anchored on the company's rating, not the SME supplier's). The company's policy defines caps, single-name limits and excluded sectors.

How much does it cost?

You only pay on yield actually generated. Value-sharing model: 15% of the discount captured in own-cash mode (your company keeps 85%) or 20% in bank-financing mode (your company keeps 80%). Example: capture 1.2% on a €100k invoice = €1,200 of yield. Advanta charges 15% × €1,200 = €180. Your company keeps €1,020. No monthly fee, no minimums. If you don't use it, you don't pay. We're below the market leader C2FO (15–25% of discount captured).

Not included: payment execution costs charged by the company's bank (SEPA Instant, transfers, etc.). These remain in the usual banking structure and do not flow through Advanta.

How is it different from Taulia or Coupa Pay?

Three differences. (1) Mid-cap focus: we serve €10M–€1B in AP volume; Taulia/Coupa require €500M+ for the implementation cost to make economic sense. (2) European ERPs: native connectors for Primavera Enterprise and PHC CS. Taulia only connects to global SAP/Oracle and requires an IT project. (3) Commercial: €0 implementation vs €80k–€250k, value-sharing (15% of yield · 85% to you) vs six-figure annual SaaS. Still below the market leader C2FO (15–25%).

How does the SAP S/4HANA integration work?

SAP Cloud Integration-certified connector. Bidirectional OAuth to read AP, write payment proposals and mark invoices as paid. Works with SAP S/4HANA Cloud and on-prem (with S/4HANA Cloud Connector). Same architecture for Oracle Fusion and NetSuite via REST APIs. For Primavera Enterprise and PHC CS Enterprise we have a native PT connector.

What data is shared with Advanta?

Only the data strictly necessary for execution: (a) headers of invoices in "approved" status (supplier VAT ID, amount, due date, internal ID), (b) supplier identification to issue the advance offer, (c) payment confirmation (one-way write). We never access: end-customer data, salaries, contracts, or any information outside the AP module. Data encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Hosted in the EU (Frankfurt + Dublin AZs).

How does CSRD reporting work?

One-click exportable to ESRS S2 (workers in value chain) and S4 (consumers) datapoints: number of SME suppliers benefiting, average days of payment acceleration, total amount paid in advance, percentage reduction in average supplier DSO. Output as CSV, JSON and PDF formatted for CSRD assurance. Integrates with ESG auditors (PwC, EY, Deloitte) via standard export.

Which suppliers benefit most?

SMEs with average days sales outstanding (DSO) >60 days, individual invoices >€10k, and/or external factoring at 6–10%. Typical sectors: construction, B2B services, industry, logistics. Our platform already has 200+ such suppliers on the waitlist. When an onboarding buyer brings their 100 largest suppliers, ~40% are already on our platform (network effect).
